Exyn 2025 Year In Review

Written by Exyn Technologies | Dec 29, 2025 12:00:01 PM

As the year winds down and eases into the holidays, we wanted to reflect on all that happened in the Nexys/ExynAI ecosystem in 2025, and peer over the berm at where we're headed next year and beyond.

Customer Highlights

It's been incredible to see all the places our customers take Nexys to try and capture high quality digital twins, including breathtaking architectural gems like El Templo de los Guerreros (The Temple of the Warriors) at Chichén Itzá from our partners at GB Industrial. Or customers who push Nexys & ExynAI to the limit, like this >2km capture of industrial power lines. If you'd like us to spotlight your Nexys captures on our social media or marketing, we want to hear from you!

Although the highlight of the year (and the big teaser for 2026) has to be the pilot of our Nexys API and ExynAI SDK throughout 2025. One of our customers, UP Caeli Via, and their ARGOS platform were able to integrate the Nexys without an Exyn employee ever seeing or touching the ARGOS platform! The integration was done completely remotely. We have some pretty incredible customers using the Nexys API in astounding ways and we can't wait to tell you all about it in 2026.

Product Updates

This year Nexys got a lot of upgrades under the hood to improve the safety and reliability of autonomous flights with ExynAI: the addition of GPS-online autonomy for outdoor flights, smarter exploration modes for Autonomy Level 4, an energy aware return-to-home health check, infinite and rotatable no fly zones, and safe landing site detection

And for post-processing, our team created a batch processing app for the Nexys tablet and compatible Linux platforms, improved automatic ground control point detection, increased the processing speed for non-static point removal and cloud colorization, and we continue to push the bounds of our maximum log capture time.

Product Integrations & Validation

We publicly tested the accuracy of our Nexys Pro platform to better inform our customers who are evaluating available 3D SLAM platforms. We collaborated with one of our customers, Canadian Royalties, to create a case study about optimizing underground mining operations with Nexys. We integrated new accessories like the Trimble DA2 for outdoor mobile mapping, and onto new platforms like Seafloor's suite of unmanned boats for additional underwater hydrographic analysis.

Oh Yeah, We Bloggin'

We covered a ton of interesting topics on our blog about all things 3D mapping, autonomous, and geospatial. Remember that drone on Mars? We looked at how it flies through the differences between vision-based and LiDAR-based SLAM. We investigated how new 3D mapping workflows are streamlining facilities management through digital twins. And how the expanding toolkit for surveying professionals has changed more than ever.

Here's a few more top posts from this year for the absolute sickos: Are you even on the level? Lets check the as-built. Can 3D SLAM be used to capture the wind? You better believe it. Though you might need a datacenter to help you crunch the numbers. Speaking of numbers, are you bulking up your material assessment with 3D SLAM? Or should I say 3D SWOLE? But before you go spending on an expensive INS you might want to read this.

What's Happening In 2026

Ok so what's next for 2026? You can expect more focus on Nexys API & ExynAI SDK as we continue to expand our offering to customers. For the SDK, imagine enabling autonomous tasks across captures so an inspection robot can pick up where it left off last mission. We're also adding more options to the mission task panel for more customizable, complex mission types. We want to continue making ExynAI as modular and extendable as the Nexys platform.

Speaking of, we're looking to expand the integrated sensors with Nexys for 2026, including adding 360º camera integration for higher resolution photospheres and better cloud colorization.

Last but certainly not least, the team is hard at work to create an ExynAI Post-Processing App for Windows which we hope to make available to customers in 2026.

From the entire Exyn team, thanks for being a part of our journey to create better autonomous robots for better work for a better world.

Happy holidays and we'll see you next year.
